Weekend in Steamboat Springs

We spent this past weekend in Steamboat Springs with our good friends, Tim & Lisa Knurek.  We spent a weekend in Vail earlier this summer with Tim & Lisa and since we had such a great time, we decided to plan another weekend away together!  In Vail we spent a fun-filled evening playing Scene It, a game that Anthony & I love...and kicked butt at.  Tim & Lisa felt they needed to redeem themselves in the game department, so they introduced us to Mexican Train Dominoes on this trip...let's just say that we loved it...but didn't win.  Anthony and I have been playing at home since our return and we will be completely ready for our next trip to kick some Knurek butt!  We're hoping to rent our favorite house in Estes Park in the winter for another fun weekend together.

Back to Steamboat though...we ate excellent food (we had the most amazing barbeque sandwich with thick aged smoked cheddar cheese...twice), went on a gorgeous drive through the country side, and went to see a beautiful waterfall.  Overall, an excellent trip that we all enjoyed and wished was longer.

On Saturday we took a beautiful drive and saw plenty of fall colors to keep us happy:  Click for Pictures from Drive

We stopped by a lake for Holden to get out and play...

And got some good family shots...

Then on Sunday we visited Fish Creek Falls...Click for More Pictures
Where Tim & Lisa had a friendly competition of who could keep their foot in the water the longest...
Tim won, but cheated to accomplish that.

We hiked around a bit, and got some more great family pictures:

Later we played in a park near our new favorite restaurant...where the crew had a little hula hoop contest...Lisa by far beat Tim & Anthony and just kept going & going!  Click for More Park Pictures

Holden had such a fun time running around and playing...until he tripped and got a nice bloody lip...all good though, a little gelato made it all better and we headed home!
